Paternity Leave

Important Points: -

  1. This provision has been introduced from 16/09/2005.
  2. Leave to be granted for a period of 15 days on full pay.
  3. To be granted to married male permanent / temporary Government Employees having two surviving children.
  4. Leave sanctioning authority is competent to sanction the leave.
  5. Government have clarified that the Paternity Leave has to be availed by the Married Male Government Employee from the date of wife has delivered the baby.
  6. Government further clarify that the paternity leave can be availed either before 15 days or within a period of 6 moths from the date of delivery.
  7. Prior to date of delivery
  8. below 6 months after date of delivery on production of Medical Certificate
  9. counts for increment/pension.
  10. Leave salary: on full pay.
